We Build Clarity From Complexity
Investment reporting shouldn't feel like decoding ancient texts. Back in 2019, I was helping a friend understand why their portfolio statements looked like they'd been written in three different languages. That's when it hit me—if someone with a finance background found this confusing, what about everyone else?
So we started Mylux Nexer with a simple idea. Take the noise out of investment reporting and replace it with something that actually makes sense. No jargon walls. No five-page reports that say nothing. Just clear information that helps people make decisions.
How We Got Here
The early days were rough. We'd spend hours trying to explain what we did at networking events. "Investment reporting platform" would get blank stares. "We make your portfolio easier to understand" clicked better, but it still didn't capture the full picture.
Our first client was a small advisory firm in Victoria. They had about forty clients who kept calling with the same questions about their statements. After we built their custom reporting dashboard, those calls dropped by seventy percent. Not because people cared less—they just finally understood what they were looking at.
By late 2021, we'd worked with enough firms to spot patterns. Everyone struggled with the same things. Consolidating data from multiple sources. Making performance numbers meaningful instead of just decorative. Showing tax implications without turning reports into reference manuals.
Now we work with advisors and firms across Canada who want their clients to actually read their reports. And more importantly, understand them.
What Drives Our Work
Transparency Without the Fluff
We believe people deserve to understand where their money is and what it's doing. That means reports that answer questions instead of creating new ones. When something's complicated, we explain it—we don't hide behind technical language or assume everyone has a finance degree.
Built Around Real Use Cases
Every feature we build comes from actual conversations with advisors and their clients. We're not interested in adding bells and whistles that look impressive in demos but collect dust in practice. If it doesn't solve a real problem, it doesn't make it into the platform.
Partnership Over Transactions
We're not here to sell you software and disappear. Our clients stick with us because we actually respond when something needs adjusting. Markets change, regulations shift, client needs vary—we adapt our reporting to match those realities instead of forcing you to work around our limitations.

Principal Investment Analyst
Before starting Mylux Nexer, I spent eight years at a mid-sized wealth management firm where I learned exactly how frustrating investment reporting could be—both for advisors and clients. I'd watch talented advisors spend half their client meetings just explaining what the numbers meant.
These days, I split my time between working directly with advisory firms on their reporting needs and figuring out how to make our platform better. When I'm not doing that, you'll probably find me hiking somewhere in the BC interior or attempting to teach my nephew about compound interest (he's seven, so we're starting small).
